Lake Tapps Cleanup
I got off work early today and we decided to go up to Lake Tapps and do some cleanup work on our favorite Musky fishery. We started at the launch and made it around the point and about 1/4 way down dike 4 before we had filled the 3 platsic grocery bags we had and what we could carry. Headed back to the closest trash can and take a look at dike 7 & 8. Other then the multitudes of prop tracks in the rough gravel, we filled the remaining bag we found in the truck plus what we could carry.
We need ALOT more trash bags!!!

Good work Rac, that is an easy thing that all of us could do, maybe I can fit that in myself soon.

We had a good time and recieved alot of compliments from people walking by.
Once we got over to dike 7&8, thats when the fun began. Ankle deep, shoe stealing mud.
We made a game of it to see who could find the most prop parts. I won with two peices, Cody is holding a full blade in the one pic.
We'll be back out there again this weekend if weather permits. Looking at Saturday around noon.:thumleft:

Great job RaMcVey, what a great lesson for your son!

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

I would nominate you for the yearly Angler’s Greenscape Award but I don’t think there is such a thing. Great Job!RaMcVey wrote: We'll be back out there today about noon. Look for us along Dike 4.

Hey Rich,
Thanks again for the time and all the efforts. Maybe we could get a local business around Tapps to have sponsor a BBQ or do a potluck/cookout while a group of fishermen/locals get together to do this on a larger scale before the water gets back to normal? I would love to help out but Uncle Sam is sending me to Korea for the first 3 weeks in March. Just a thought. Maybe Todd Reis or Kevin Bye would be interested in getting some folks together with you? Regardless, thanks again and great job taking the initiative when no one else will.

RaMcVey, you and your family are awesome. Great work with the clean-up. That is a lot as garbage. It took a lot of time and retarded people to create that mess and it only took one great family less than a day to get rid of it. My hat is off to you and your family. And what a great learning tool for your kid. Get a couple of his friends out there and you got a Lake Tapps Clean-up Posse.

RE:Lake Tapps Cleanup
Thanks everybody, Your support makes it even more worth while.
Saturday:
After hitting the gym and swim lessons (for Cody), we ran back to the house, grabbed the 14 yr old and hit The Rock Pizza to load up on some carbs for the afternoon.
We made it to the end of Dike 4 and started packing the bags back. After underestimating the weight of all the trash, we enlisted the help of the resident park guy to gain access to the dike rd.
I must say, I'm pretty darn impressed with my family. Giving up an afternoon to help out. We finished up the afternoon with a lil bit of bank fishin.
Oh, Yea. Ya cant see them in the pics... but there were two WashingtonLakes tee shirts attending..
