Re: Hello, where is everyone?
hey I want to see more activity so I'm happy for ideas. I just don't know how flexible the forum software is.
Re: Hello, where is everyone?
Thats totally understandable. I get that. Still happy to see good ideas taken seriously even if it doesnt end up working out. Thanks again.

Thank you everyone for all your replies. I agree with majority of your comments, and the reason I asked is because I too lament the decline of the forum.
I am pretty confident though the below is a contributing factor. Can anyone spot the problem?

Re: Hello, where is everyone?
are you referring to the forum link being buried in the Research drop down menu? We're meeting this weekend so this is helpful information.
Re: Hello, where is everyone?
Yes, I remember having a hard time finding the Forum link when I came back to the site recently!
Re: Hello, where is everyone?
Thats a good point wlai. The forum link location wasn't obvious on my first visit to the site when it changed. I could see how a new member could have trouble locating it.

Re: Hello, where is everyone?
I bookmarked the forum sign in page so that's where it opens every time I log in. Rarely ever go to the site homepage.
Mike if you guys are meeting this weekend maybe you can discuss moving "Mark forums read" from under "Search" and put under "Forum". Even though I know where it is, I still catch myself going to "Forum" when finished reading posts.

Hewes, if you check the box for ‘Stay logged in’. Then set a bookmark to the ‘Active topics’ section.. then you will be on the cutting edge of all current conversations. (-:
Without having to log in each time.

Re: Hello, where is everyone?
I use 'active topics' and I don't use a book mark, I use a shortcut on the desk top. LOTS less clicking that way.
And "Mark forums read", which is under 'search', and only under 'board index', should be on every page under "forums", as it's a forum thing.
