2015 Pond Jumperz Bass Club

Post by bcalvert » Wed Jan 21, 2015 2:45 pm

The Washington State Pond Jumperz Bass Club is getting ready for our 2015 Season.

We will be holding our new members meeting on February, 3rd @ Round Table Pizza in Mount Vernon @ 7pm.

We offer a competitive circuit with the majority of our tournaments being open to the public. Our events are electric motor only, this means that during our tournaments gas propulsion is not allowed. We have however passed a new tournament rule that states that you may use your outboard at the end of the tournament to "idle" back to the launch. Once the outboard motor is used, your day of fishing is finished and you must return directly to the weigh-in area.

2015 WSPJ Tournament Schedule.
April - Lake Terrell Lake (Whatcom) - Open
May - Lake Roesiger Lake (Snohomish) - Open
June - Red Rock Lake (Grant) - Members Only 2 day event.
July - Clear Lake (Skagit) - Open
August - Big Lake (Skagit) - Open
September - Terrell Lake (Whatcom) - Open

Specific dates will be announced after our February meeting.

Even if you are not interested in becoming a member but would still like to wet a line in a bass tourney, watch our website for the specific dates of our 2015 Schedule. We have five opens planned for this year.

Where do you guys launch out of Roesiger?
Might be the only one I can justify based on distance from the place. And what is the date in May bcalvert?

BTW, it is cool to see you guys coming full circle from an idea on this site. I think it is a good thing for small boats and trolling motor only boats to participate in. You have my backing. And I will try to make an Open this year. Keep it up.

Thanks for the support and edits. The link should work now.

We have the weekends for all of the tournaments but we will finalize the specific day at our February meeting. The Roesiger tourney will be either May 23rd or 24th. We launch from the small WDFW launch at the south end of the lake.

Hi bcalvert, I was wondering if the club has a length limit? like 20', 200hp boats but use the electric trolling motor or is that frowned upon? Do members use pontoon boats w/ or w/out electric trolling motors? It looks like you guys have some fun 'opens' this year. Thanks, Larry

We do not have any limits on boat size. We have members and non-members who fish our tourneys with 18-21' bass boats, 200-250 outboards. Other members are in smaller bass hounds and john boats. The common factor is that during the tournament we are all limited to only use our trolling motors. We think this provides an even playing field for all boat types. Here are our tournament rules regarding boats and motors.

All boats may have up to three electric trolling motors attached, none of which can exceed 36v. The use of outboard motors during tournament fishing hours is prohibited. Outboard motors may be attached to the boat on lakes that permit such actions however, the use of outboard motors during active tournament fishing time is grounds for disqualification. If you have an outboard motor, you are allowed to use it at the end of active fishing time to "idle" back to the weigh-in area. Once the outboard is used the angler may no longer fish. All boats must be equipped with a working aeration system (live well).

This is really a great group of people/club. I fished it a few years ago. I only wish I had more time now.
Fishinislife, get that boat goin' and go hit Roesigger!

You could fish it with me ya know. I would need a guy who knows that lake. I know bass and could put in the research but I have never been on Roesiger.

I had a few other questions but I took the time to read the registration form and tournament rules on the site and those answered everything. Sounds cool. I hope to be able to get up there and fish with you guys.
