Sonar Sensations

I have considered doing this for some time. I use to attach an occasional screen shot from my fish finder to the reports but something has changed and the system will not recognize the image format. This may be seriously boring or depending on your perspective interesting, either way here are a few screenshots of past fish encounters. Each represents a hook-up, maybe not a fish in the box but I was able to verify species. Maybe we can make this an ongoing thread, posting FF screen shots of our aquatic adventures.

Wow. I guess it is all about learning how to read it. just looks like colored static to me. What kind of sonar do you have?

Tony, I think the best thing for you to do is print out each of those images, paperclip them together in order, bring them to the sportsman's show in Jan, and someone can explain the whole thing in person. I find doing it in person to be LOTS better than trying to type something that complicated/detailed on a computer. You can even take the Lowrance clinic/class that can also be used for other brand depth finders. The images will be the same. Even talk to Jeff Boyer and have him explain the 'stuff' in the images. I don't know if Mark Markantonio will be there as he moved to Calif, but if he is he can help also, he's sponsored by Lowrance as is Jeff. Maybe even bring the owner's manual for your unit and someone can help with that/settings to bring out the best images on your unit.

Mine is a Garmin from 2005. Does it even have this technology?

Yearwize it could, but it depends on the model. His looks like a Humminbird and would have the equivalent of Lowrance's HDS, which hasn't been out all that long, I don't know when HDS first came out, but I'll guess at 5 years ago. I've had mine for 2 years now.

Here is a 32" (accu-fish ) lake trout @104' that came up 10' to inspect jig and then followed jig and hit on 7th bounce. Several kokanee (6,7,9,10 and 11") seen suspended in water column.

Here is a buzz bomb going down past a ball of kokanee and a mackinaw zigzagging up 20 feet from 98 feet to grab lure and head to the bottom.
