Cannon Mini Troll Downrigger

Post by Lotech Joe » Mon Nov 12, 2007 6:46 pm

Does anyone here have any experience with the Cannon Mini Troll downrigger? I'm considering one for my 12 foot jon boat. The White Elephant has them for $10 less than Cabela's or Sportsman's Warehouse.
Thank,

I use the little Scotty downrigger in fresh and salt water and swear by it (I have the large one too!) Be careful to secure tightly or you'll hear a "Bloop" as it flips overboard. There is nothing as exciting as a no weight experience with your fish once you have one on. Downriggers put your gear exactly where you want it and keep the bait fishing. Great for summer heat. Use them with my canoe and 16 foot Lund for freshwater lakes, impoundments, and Puget Sound. I haven't used the Cannon, just seen it in the stores. Has the same advantages. Good luck . . but in the absence of good feedback, spend the extra for the Scotty!

The Scotty Lake troll has NO depth guage FYI....

I ended up going with Scotty 1050 Compact Manual and buying their clamp on mount...Very high quality and I'm pleased with both...Although the DR was like $110-$120 and the mounts were $45....
