Wow, that's a dandy smallmouth. She's plump and looks ready to pop.

Elijah nice catch bro. Congrats on the new PB. I'm sure with your passion you'll be besting that soon.
Hey, have you ever thought about writing up a tutorial on how to make a hat cam like that. I'm sure enquiring minds want to know how you did that. Great idea and love the videos. Keep'em coming.

thanks a lot for the kind words! i appreciate it! i never dreamed of catching a 7 lber this year and i still can't believe what happened! i can only hope to catch one bigger but at the same time don't want to build up my hopes too far.fishnislife wrote:Elijah nice catch bro. the hatcam was extremely simple to make! i took an old hat that my friend gave me to use and drilled a hole in it. I then found a bolt that was the same thread pitch as a tripod mount and stuck it through the hole and tightened it down with a nut. voila! cheap custom hatcam complete! i just use my canon powershot sd1100is which is just a digital camera that i got back in 2008! it takes "decent" video

Congratulations on a new personal best, Elijah! That is an amazing catch and it's awesome you were able to capture it all on video. I enjoyed the footage. What a healthy, beautiful fish. Way to promote CPR as well.
I fished Table Rock a couple days last week while I was in Missouri for work, but haven't made a cast yet in Washington State this year. Hoping to get out soon and maybe join you on the Trophy Board!
Take care and hook 'em hard,

Two trophies from today. Polar opposite fish. One is long and fat. One is a football.
