Hello all! I made it out on Silver searching for tiger musky again. Fished for about 5 hours. No musky in the boat. This was my sixth day without a musky. Highlight of the day was a small falcon or hawk chasing my 10" hand tied streamer while I was false casting. He came rocketing out of tree that was 200 feet away. This should look pretty cool on the 360 camera footage! I've stated this before, but I have a LOFTY goal to catch a 50"er out of a personal pontoon boat with a fly rod. I understand that although this is not impossible at Silver Lake....It's darn close to that. I am taking ANY helpful advice about Silver Lake that people are willing to share. PLEASE SHARE. I would be forever grateful. I started with very little knowledge of the tiger musky, but I'm learning fast and gathering as much information as possible. I've talked to the guys at SilverBow Fly shop and Swede's Fly shop as well as the biologist who plants the tiger muskies every year in Silver Lake. The biologist believes there is a chance that a 50"er is lurking in the lake. In fact he was more optimistic than I assumed he would. I fish at Silver because I live across the street and have access at my neighbors house through a swampy area. This allows me to be very efficient with my musky learning adventure. I did see one 24"er as I was coming back to shore in the swampy area in about 2 feet of water hanging in the muck. Scared the heck out of me because he crashed out of there like a shark! Super cool! Add that to the "what I've learned notebook." I might have to think about spending more time searching the 6 and in water right now. The pink flowers from the vegetation growing in the swampy area have finally died off. The weeds are dying quickly now as it's much easier to get through the swamp in the pontoon since the weeds break up much easier. One last note, I'm just so grateful for my wife and daughter who completely support me in this journey and help to keep my optimism up in the face of defeat. Never quit and never give up on your dreams! We will meet some day Big Papa Musky. Miracles happen every day! It's up to you to make it a great day!
