Another luckless day on the Snohomish. There were fishing rolling everywhere around me -- more than I've seen out there recently. But they were definitely tight-lipped.
In fact, I wouldn't write another skunking report if it hadn't been for something I saw out on the river today. There was a guy in a 18-20 foot Alumaweld with a windshield running up and down at speed way too close to other boats. At one point as I was trolling, he kicked up enough of a wake as he passed me that I had to power up and turn hard to avoid being kicked into the rocks. I saw one other boater provide him with some rather pointed verbal feedback a little further downstream when he passed close to his anchored boat.
Later, when I was recovering my boat, I saw a couple at the launch that were absolutely drenched. Someone in a sled had gone by them close enough to actually capsize their canoe. Is there anywhere that any of us needs to be so urgently that it justifies putting someone else in danger? Captain Clueless had his Alumaweld there, too, but I listened to my better angels, and refrained from a confrontation.
