Fishing solo, I launched my small boat onto Wye Lake. No rigs or trailers at the access when I arrived. It was a bit windy. I fished for about 3 hours without a single hit. Talked a bit with a lake resident who was fishing off his dock for trout. He said that fishing at Wye this year has been awful. He also said that the lake has a few resident otters that will steal the fish off any stringer that is hanging in the water. Just before I left, another angler arrived and was trolling for trout. He hadn't found any.
After I left Wye Lake I drove to nearby Carney Lake. As I arrived I found a Sharif and Game Warden sharing crime stories. The young warden was a nice friendly chap and I asked him if he knew if there were bass in Carney. He said he though so because most lakes have bass now. I have fished that lake a couple of times and never saw a sign of bass. Do any of you readers know?

Bob, I have fished there 3 or 4 times over the last 2 years. Never found any bass. Lots on mini sunfish though!
I was reading your book today planning my next adventure. Outstanding book! Thank you for what you have brought to the sport.
