For the second day in a row I was going to go to Rattlesnake but when I got there it was too rough so I headed over to Alice. I'm glad I did today, it was truly epic. Was there from about 10-2:30 and netted at least 30 trout and lost more than 10 (barbless hooks)! I started fishing with my Alice go to lure (God's Tooth silver/blue) and got a bunch of fish on it so decided to mix it up and go for the hot pink version and they continued to hit it like crazy.
The day started off overcast with a bit of wind, around 1:00 some rain blew in which turned to hail for a while and then eventually back to rain. The bite amped up quite a bit during the hail! I almost went in during that mess but decided to stick it out for "one more" pass. After that the sun actually popped out which helped dry me out. The wind was a bit gusty and blew me around a bit, sometimes I didn't even need to pedal the kayak when going downwind.
Throughout all this the bite was pretty constant, I don't remember a period of more than 5-10 minutes where I didn't get a fish or at least multiple bites.
Finally left at 2:30 while the bite was still on as I was too tired and hungry to keep going. As I was getting my gear back to the car another angler I've seen on Rattlesnake (forgot to ask you name!) was just putting his john boat in to give a shot at some Bass. Hopefully he'll let us know how that went.
