Well the Tin-Guppy made her first voyage on Sprague Lake. The wind was stronger than we had hoped for so that called for a little more effort but overall it was a pretty nice day. It was my first time ever on Sprague so there was a lot to learn. We had 2 strikes and boated both fish and released same. We got a 17 and a 23 which I am pretty sure is the biggest Rainbow I have landed in the Guppy and I got it on my new Lamiglass 7 1/2 ft Kokanee Special. Good fun but for a big fish he didn't really fight all that hard, maybe the cold water. Spent most of the day fiddling with my new Lowrance HDS 7 Gen 3 just getting some "stick time" and figuring out how to get it setup the way I want it. Only saw one other boat and they said they had only had 1 bite all day. I took the big one on, you guessed it, an Orange Kekeda Fly and Les took his on an Orange Rapalla. Would have like to have had more action but for a discovery voyage it wasn't too bad.

Wow, what a beautiful looking Rainbow, nice going with the C & R Part-Time and great picture, take care, and stay safe.

Folks might not be fishing out of boats on Sprague for much longer. I drove past there yesterday and the west end was starting to freeze up. Nice looking fish

Nice healthy rainbow, what more could one ask for (other than more of the same)! Thanks for your report. :-)

Glad to see you got out and got some"FACE" time with the new sonar. Even caught a fish....wow! Give me a call and I'll fill you in on what has worked for me there.

Sorry about the lack of biting fish. I was there Mon with the same results, one fish immediately and 4 hours until the second and last fish. Last fall the fishing only got better as the water got colder. I guess the fish didn't get the message. Jim

Thanks for saying something fishindoc, I was feeling a little low about my ability to get one to hit after all your great reports. Maybe it is one of those moon phase things and they will come back. I really enjoyed catching the one I did, that was truly a beautiful fish. Would be a mounter if I did such things.
