The usual trio headed to Sprague today. I was glad to have the canvas and heater as we saw a low of 21* enroute. We had 5 lines in the water by 8:00, 2 off a planer board and 3 long lined out the back. Pink, orange, chartreuse and perch Kekeda flies and a flickershad were offered. The pink fly was the first to go off with a nice 18" bow netted and released. Our expectations as usual were high but we had trouble finding and staying with the fish today. We would experience a sudden flurry with a couple hits with 1 or 2 fish landed over 15 minutes then nothing for 45-60 minutes.
We ended up with 13 fish landed and released over 6 hours. Most of the fish were 17-18" with 2 over 20". The largest fish snapped off 20 feet from the boat after a great fight. Water temp 45*, speed 2.2-2.6 MPH, depth 9-14 FOW. Pink Kekeda fly with a small silver smiley blade yielded the most fish.
As usual another great day on the water with friends.
