Got to the river at first light. Seen a lot of pinks jumping as soon as I got there but as the day rolled on it seemed that more and more silvers began to show themselves. Started drifting dick nites for the first hour with nothing to show for. Decided to switch over to bobber and eggs. After about a half an hour got a good take down but wasn't able to stick it. I recently bought those Elgin god tooth and decided to try it out, 2nd cast hooked into a small but still chrome pink hen. Released her and went back to floating eggs. After about an hour I see a nice school of silvers rolling everywhere and cast right in the middle of it. Not more then 5 seconds and bobber down. Brought in a small coho jack. Kept it and tried for another hour with nothing so decided to go home and grab some lunch.

Thanks for your report and giving the God's Tooth a try. We appreciate your support and hopefully you'll get a coho next time instead of a humpy:)

I was loaded with eggs today and initially planned to use them but I really liked the action on the gods tooth and if I wasn't loaded with so many eggs I would have tried it out longer. It has now became one of my weapons in my arsenal and am sure it will catch me a few coho this year. :)

I have the same patterns of spoons rigged with the hook on each end so I'll try fast or slow action first for a bit and if I don't like the action (usually due to current or not catching fish), then I attach a spoon with the hook on the opposite end. :)

thanks for the report. How close to the bottom are you floating your eggs, or are you higher up in the water column?

I usually use about a 3-4ft leader and another 1-2ft to the bobber stop. Where I am fishing is pretty deep. If I was in shallower water 3 ft leader with no extra length to the bobber is usually what I use

On those God's Tooth spoons. Which way seems best to set it up for drifting. I know that you can switch the ends. I also, am giving them a go!

To be honest I'm not sure. This was my first weekend trying them out and I was casting and retrieving it slowly. Maybe someone else can chime in on this

If you are drifting, you can either reel very slow while weight is bouncing bottom and I recommend fast action (hook on wide end) or drift with cast and retrieve adding a twitch about every 2 seconds using slow action (hook on narrow end). These are general guidelines and certainly can be reversed:)
