We threw four inch plugs, minnows, and worms at the west side of the lake for the better part of three hours. Caught one largemouth bass about 4 inches long (it's amazing that they will attack something the same size as them), a pair of perch, and half a dozen bluegill. Way better than getting skunked, but it would have been nice to scare up something worth taking a photo over.

One guy was getting ready to troll pop gear as I was loading out and I told him I had no idea there were trout in Silver. I think he thought I was a little crazy… I was under the impression the musky pretty well cleared them out. Would love some more info on this!

Stay hydrated during the hot weather. Peace.

Trout have no been stocked in silver for some years now so you are on par with your logic. The perch have been the main ecological "kingpin" so to say since they are consuming all of the small invertebrates within the water column. unfortunately there are no pike, the natural predator of perch, to keep their population in check. This causes a depletion of food sources and ultimately a large population of heavily stunted fish.
