Took the boat out Sunday. Trolled a chrome dodger with a chrome Dick Nite behind it, no extra weight on the line. Once I flipped the bale back I had a hook up. The action wasn't constant due to the wind trying to blow me in circles, but it kept me busy in between hook ups. I mainly trolled up and down the far back opposite of the road. I left with 5, sizes ranging between 9" to 12". I see the state restocked the lake on 4/6/17 but the meat color was orange and not white of the fish I caught, plus the size of the fish are much bigger than in recent years. I've noticed with recently stocked fish have a white colored meat instead of orange. Can someone please reply. Does the color of the meat change from white to orange if the fish has been in the lake a while? Josh H maybe our paths might cross while fishing Cranberry. Good luck everyone.

My brother actually runs the hatchery in bellingham that stocks cranberry. Typically yes the meat darkens as they feed naturally in the lake. Recent years the state has improved the feed hatchery fish get, so the meat is a bit better when they are stocked now than what it used to be like. Cranberry trout as the summer goes on actually feed on a lot of snails. Its a neat lake. I am always hoping I get a big brown on there.
