After fishing Island lake Bob Johansen and I moved over to Limerick to see if we could connect with some nicer fish. This lake was quite a change from Island - the water is a browner, mineral color. We had no luck at the first spot and moved to the far end of the lake where there are some backwater shallows. Very fishy looking water. Bob was the first to connect with a couple fish, losing one at the boat. Better size than Island but not quite what we were hoping for. We worked down the shoreline to a spot that Bob commented always had a fish for him. He allowed me first cast and sure enough a bass hit my floating rapalla but came undone. We continued down the shoreline and I lost a couple more, again, larger fish than at Island. As we finished up we went back to the same "special spot" and once again I cast into the secret spot. Sure enough the same bass hit my rapalla, this time on the retrieve - and came off again! Not a bad sized fish. I guess it was his lucky day. We ended the day soon after. I'm revitalized and ready to face the work week again.

learn how to set the hook! How do you lose that many fish on a treble hook? sounds like a fish story to me! You probably didn't get a bite all day did you?

Is the owner of this site really going to make up a fish story to make himself feel better?

Mike is an excellent fisherman and does not need to make up any stories. I was there and what he wrote is the way it happened. I have had many fish get off a floating Rapala with it's nine needle sharp hooks -- And, I do set the hook :) BJ

Didn't really know how to respond to the original comment. My attempt at internet sarcasm. Thanks for the support guys.
