After reading a few reports of limits caught on the Snoho I headed down after work yesterday. I fished about 1 mile upstream of Rotary Park. Tide was out allowing for "beach" access. I tied on a 1/4 oz squid jig and applied shrimp scent. After a few cast I could tell I needed the 3/8oz jig, as I was changing jigs out a school went by. I think I all but missed the school but I could see fish jumping randomly here and there. I had a nice shady spot, it was very pleasant. And in the spirit of "Humpy Season" I shared my spot with another fisherman who asked if there was room in my access area. No bites, I decorated the bottom of the river with a few jigs, very nice to be on the river and see fish. Only once have I caught humpies this early, I don't seem to start catching until September.
There are fish in the river. I may take my boat down next time.
Tight Lines,
