Decided to change things up a bit today. Since it was so hot and I knew the sky would be packed with rafters and tubers I decided to fish the Snohomish. I wasn't expecting much, but we put the boat in and our little 8 horse evinrude chugged us upstream to a pool just below Thomas's eddy. Out came the plunking rods and a six pack of modelo, great beer on a hot day by the way. We fished for about twenty minutes when the rod out the back of the boat went off! Aww yeah fishon! After a brief battle I brought the most beautiful little native steelhead up to the boat. I would guess its size at about two pounds and just dime bright. Didnt take a pic since I wanted to free him to complete his journey with as little stress as possible. What a great day on the water with my family. My first native steelhead in about two years or so.
