Very quiet very dead.
Started out at Thomas Eddy to my surprise it was just myself and one other fisherman the whole 2 hours. The sight of a seal in the river made me optimistic that he was chasing some fish up stream. It was not to be. The water was rising but it looked very good given the conditions. Drifted eggs for about an hour+ and then tried dick nites. Nothing at all and didn't see any sign of fish moving through. Decided to do some scouting upstream. Fished the area behind Gale Evans Ranch and saw no fish got no hits. On Monday of this week this area was full of silvers that are now gone. Fished just above the bridge in Sultan below the Wallace same result nothing. Went down to the mouth of the Wallace and it was high, fast, dirty, and full of debris. Not a fish in sight. Walked up the bar and fished a few spots. Found about a dozen fisherman spread along the bar and the dykes. One guy had 2 very dark silvers but that was it. Was hoping that the second surge of rain/water would bring the last of the fish in but so far its not looking so good. Im sure they are in but I think the numbers are pretty thin. Going for one last hurrah on Monday then its time to hang it up till steelhead time.
