Fished 2 hours at Thomas Eddy starting around 7:00am. No fish, had to leave to do other things. Beautiful morning though and I saw an Osprey snatch a small salmon out of water.

I heard a couple guy discussing if treble hooks could be used in the river. From what I see in the regs it looks to me like trebles are legal. Is that correct?

Sure seems like the fish are not striking like they were back in 2011.

Met some nice people today, for it being so crowded people were pretty chill.

No trebs. Anti-snagging rule covers it I believe.

Treble hooks are legal when using a floating lure with no weight attached. For example a wiggle wart with no weight. Usually fished ftom boat. Otherwise extremely illegal

Treble hooks are legal on any lure when trolling from a boat. When you are casting, whether from boat or shore, treble hooks are only legal on lures that float. Weights may be attached no less than 12 inches from lure.

So riverhunter and wussfacekiller. or anyone else who knows for sure, are you saying the two treble hooks that are normally on the wiggle warts when purchased are legal to keep on the wiggle wart and fish with in the rivers from both bank and boats ,and isn't mandatory to remove the trebles and replace with single point barbless hooks? just because its a floating lure. Just wanting a little clarification.

Yes, the trebles on your factory wiggle warts are legal, as far as the "anti-snagging rule" goes. I haven't looked into all of the rivers, but any of them that have the anti snagging rule in effect are legal for trebles on your floating lures. Just make sure any weight you add is at least 12 inches above the lure.
