I rate this as 4 because it was my first Silver. I put in at Rotary Park 6:45 AM. Tried a Brads wiggeler plug while anchored letting the current do the work just above the secound power line(power line with wood and metal towers). No results. I moved up to the three metal tower power line crossing as this is were I caught bright Pinks last weekend. I tried the Brads Wiggeler again while anchored and got one lite bite. Switched to a #1 brass Dick Nite and got severl lite bites. Switched to a green and white Needlefish lure and got a good hit but no hook up. I trolled the Needlefish down stream as the tide was still going out along the the west side bank at the 3 towers. On my first pass I got a hook up! The fish ran toward the center of the river and the other boats. Almost lost her to the prop of another troller, but for the quick action of the other angler who saw I had a fish on disaster was avoided. Got her to my boat and in my net rather quickly, not a big fighter. When I confirmed it was not a Pink I was pretty happy. I just bought my boat one year ago last spring, had knee surgey last august so I could not fish the river with my boat last season, my point being is that this is my first trip tagerting silvers. I have tried from the bank in the past with no success. On my second pass I had another on but lost it before I could get it to the boat. My third pass I got one on and had it to the boat and was trying to look at it when I should of been netting it and it got off my line.

Sounds to me like You are going to stock up on green & white Needlefish. LOL Way to switch it up & find the magical lure! Thanks for the report.

Nicely done! I was on the river that afternoon for the incoming tide. Lots of folks trolling for silvers and I believe I saw only one caught by a guy trolling and he was just far enough away from us that I’m not sure if it was a pink or a silver. We targeted pinks after doing amazing well for the last 4 weeks on the river, and after fishing the Sound all morning for silvers which yielded one 7 pounder. We managed 2 pinks over a 4 hour time period. We saw a few other pinks caught as they jumped everywhere near the SR9 bridge however they seem to be in their final stage now and although we casted right on top of them they were far less willing to strike. Glad you landed a nice silver. Good eats!

Nice. I cant wait till I get my boat. If you dont have one get a knotless net then you net then identify. Ever sence I got mine I pack when ever I can its nice knowing I can net the fis get the hook out and release it unharmed.
