Ring, ring: "Yo!"
"What time's high tide?"
"Around 8:20ish, why?"
"We should go fishing."
"Sure, come on up."
Thus started what turned out to be the shortest fishing trip we've had in a long time. As my friend Joey and I got down to the river things looked promising as there were not many people fishing from the bank and the spot I wanted to fish was available. After about half an hour we started to see some rollers and things were starting to look up and that's when it happened. I guess Joey got tired of standing and decided to take a seat, totally forgetting that we were standing in about 2 feet of water.
"You okay?"
"Yeah. I just slipped."
"You wanting to go."
"No. I'll be okay."
"You're gonna start getting cold really fast."
"Yeah. Okay, let's go."
So after snapping a quick pic with my phone we went back to my place and got her into some dry sweat pants and a softball jersey and she was none the worse for wear. She claims I pushed her as payback for when I fell into the Stilly 2 years ago trying to help her land a fish but anyone who knows me knows I would never do anything like that, huh Joey? And I was good, I didn't laugh. Chuckled, yes. But laugh, no.
