I got my 12 year old nephew down to the snohomish river this morning to try to get him his first fish. My go to spot was packed so we went downtown and cast for a little over 30 min before the high tide chased us out. one person caught one fish the time we were there. we then went and tried a spot behind the visitor center with no luck. Then checked my go to spot and there was a spot open. We fished there for a while there but still no luck. Then we drove to sultan (My current hometown) and fished the sky with all the other yahoos. People were just snagging the pinks left and right, did not see one fish hooked in the mouth. We tried pink spoons, 50 50 spoons, green silver 4" spoons, pink jigs, pink squid jigs, buzz bombs. My nephew lost $25 worth of my lures LOL. So we gave up on the river and took the livingston out on chain lake in monroe and my nephew caught 9 fish. (see that report)
So, it was a tuff morning on the river for him but ended good on the lake. Cant wait to try the river again and see the look on his face when he hooks into a pink or coho. The pinks must be thinning out cuz my last two trips to the river were not as good as last couple weeks.
