This was technically my second time fishing for Salmon but my first time going for the Pinks. My buddy and I got to the Snohomish River about 6:45 about 1 mile south of the Hwy 9 Bridge. My buddy caught his first pink on his 3rd cast using a jig with a pink plastic skirt. There were two guys near us using Pink Buzz Bombs and were just killing it. Another fisherman showed up and fished next to us and he too started killing it with Buzz Bombs. We didn’t have any Buzz Bombs ourselves. But the Guy who showed up next to us was the coolest guy he sold both me and my buddy a couple Buzz Bombs for a couple of bucks and what do you know we started catching and getting bites too. This guy gave us pointers and explained things about river fishing we didn’t know and we both did real well after that. I ended up with two fish, Lost several that jumped off the hook. I lost a huge one right in front of my face. We were fishing from shore and I was waist deep in my waders and this fish must have been an 8-9 pound Buck (He had a huge hump). I was working him trying to tire him out and almost had him close enough to drag to shore or net put him in a net when he turned and started to run again and SNAP goes my line. I was using 8 pound Test.... I quickly switched to 10 pound but that was my only Buzz Bomb. I ended up with my two pinks my buddy walked away with 3. But there were people limiting all around us, in boats and from shore. By the time I left at 11:30 the tide had gone way down and the bank was getting packed. All in all a great day and now I’m hooked on pinks and can’t wait to go do it again. Didnt get a pic of both of my fish but a one pic I took at home of one I caught and one pic of my buddy with the first one he caught.
