Went out with dad in his boat. Launched at High Bridge and went down to the confluence. Fished between the Confluence and 522 all morning. Tried trolling plugs up and down stream, back trolling, trolling dick nites, anchored and tried casting plugs and dick nites as well as floating eggs under a bobber.
I got one smolt with the eggs, and dad got a sucker on a plug, nothing much going on. Lots of people on the bank, and LOTS of boats, but no one was catching anything. TONS of fish jumping all day long, but couldn't seem to hook up. About 2:30 we picked up and started trolling downriver from 522. A few rounds down there, and WHAM! Fish on! After a few good runs, finally got it to the boat and dad got it in the net. Nice little Chrome coho hen. (yay more eggs to put up!)
Caught her on an orange sparkle Wiggler.
Continued to troll plugs, and had a few more hits, but no more hookups.
Only heard of three other fish caught that day, one from a guide boat with 5 clients, and another two from two guys in a little boat. Don't know where or how those fish were caught, but they came from down river.
All in all it was an awesome day, weather was perfect and it's always nice to be out on the water. Even saw some wildlife! (There were two llamas walking on the gravel bar at the confluence. So if you know anyone missing a White and Black spotted llama, and a smaller all black llama, that's where they were on Sat)
And I have to say thanks to Matt for the great reports! (they definitely helped with plug choice!)
