Fished the Snoho today. Started down by the Pilchuck and trolled up to just below Doug Bar with nothing. Trolled wigglers and K-10 and 11 kwikis in various colors. Ran up river and anchored up in a slot below 522, saw lots of fish surfacing and splashing around between us and the shore, but couldn't coax a bite. Threw Dick Nites, spinners, spoons, and a jig under a float to no avail. Didn't have bait but would have like to drift some bait through there.... Gave up on those fish and buzzed up to the bridge, put down wigglers and started trolling upstream. After about 20 minutes of trolling WHAMMO big hit on an all Orange Brad's Wiggler, started peeling line immediately and put up a great fight, landed a nice 10 lb hatchery hen at noon and fished for 2 more hours with nothing. There are fish around this area, but not a whole ton. LOTS of pressure, I imagine there must be a million people up there on the weekends, we were among about 15 boats this afternoon and we were the only ones who I saw land a fish, one bankie was snagging and hooked one briefly but lost it (thankfully). Lots of people standing on the shore doing the snaggers jerk. I'll be back up there later this week.

Nice fish! The area you fished has definitely seen alot of pressure lately. I fish from shore and won't even try on the weekend, it's not worth the tangled lines. Hope the fish start moving through in greater numbers, I'm ready for a Salmon dinner...

I was nice enough to run the side channel on the way up so I didn't blow down all the Doug Bar guys in my wake. Did you see a blue wooldridge go by?

You and me both jnoetxelmann, don't think I have seen it so slow and so little caught in many years. I fish at the DB as well and also don't go on the weekends due to many lined up bodies. Almost reminds me of Steelehead fishing in that it is a real bitch to catch a coho this year, well at least it is for me and most of my fishing buddies. However, three of my buddies went up to the Stilly a few days ago. Some park on 27th, across the street from the drive-up cigarette stand. Out of the three, only one of them caught anything. He caught one trout, two Silvers, and believe it or not, a humpy. The other two guys were pissed off because he was catching them all on a 50/50 Dick Nite, the same they were using, but could not get anything. Funny how that works isn't it? Anyway, good luck with the fishing and maybe I will see you at the DB. Usually it is me and an older man named Ray and he drives an SUV and I drive a red F-150 FX4. We usually have chairs out with a fire going and sometimes a big umbrella over us.

Matt, in fairness to the bankies, some of us were fishing tightlined jigs, not snagging. It does sorta look like a snag jerk, so your observations are understandable. There were a few buzz bombs being drug through there tho. As far as I know, I was the only guy who hooked up so if it was me you were referring to... I was using a 1/8 oz green jig with a size 8 single barbless hook and had him in the top of the mouth. I watched him slam my jig 5' from shore on the swing. BTW nice fish.

Nah, wasn't you. The hookup I saw was on drift gear, not a jig. There were a couple people (2 specifically) that I saw who were DEFINITELY snagging... or attempting to do so as I never saw them hook up. Throw the gear out.... wait 5 seconds JERK way upover the head and behind the shoulders, reel down fast, wait 5 seconds, jerk way up over the head and behind the shoulders, repeat.
