I have been reading this forum for some time and finally decided to sign up.
A buddy and I hit the Snohomish just below the 522 bridge Saturday morning to try and hook up a silver, king, chum or even an early run steelhead (I have heard a few have been caught recently). The fish were all over the place. We saw all the above jumping and even saw a lot of nice sized cuts.
I could not believe we didn't hook into any fish!
We did see a few guides boats that were slow trolling right in front of us (we were shore fishing) catching fish. It looked like they were trolling small silver and chartreuse dick nites or similar. They hooked up a few fish. So I switched to a small silver and chartreuse dick nite and fished that for an hour or so without a bump.
This was my 6th trip out on the Snohomish (this year) for salmon and I have yet to hook one. Last year I slayed the Pinks, but then again who didn't.
Any suggestions? I'd really like to get a chrome Coho on the BBQ before they get too soft.
