went out on the sky today to try and see what me and my boy could catch. got there right at 5 and thought that since it was already light fishing was going to be bad. As soon as we got there on my sons second cast he got one a nice bright buck. it ran about 8.5 pounds and put up a nice fight. I got two big hookups shortly after one spit the hook right at the shore and the other went up river and got tangled in a stump or rock and it snapped. All in all a good day.

Dude, nice native fish. You might want to read page 37 of the regs on retention of native steelhead, the Sky or any other river in the Snohomish system is hatchery fish only.

Hmmm, I blew the picture up, it's hard for me to say if that adipose fin is stubbed or whole. Let's hope it is stubbed...

It does look native in the picture but from up close you can tell it was clipped. The game warden was there and he saw the fish and said it was fine.

Slayer, sorry for thinking the worst. Whoever did the clipping on that fish must have had a few cold ones before work!

I know were all trying to help here, and some people need it. But I always give the benifit of the doubt to the man holding a fish. Insults like Trewism gave were not helpful in the least....try to be polite at least. G and K were dead on with there advice, offered it in a contructive way. GOOD fishing bro!

Well, the reg. book should state under special regs. on all rivers that only two hatchery steelhead can be retained. but no. it only states that on a handful of rivers. and under all the others its says trout must be 14 inches to keep nothing else. now is it the fishermens fault? or the department of fish and wildlifes fault? their very explanatory.
