Arrived at Rock Lake yesterday a little after 9am. The water is higher than I can remember seeing it for some time (which makes it easier to launch your boat). However, the downside is that there's quite a bit of debris floating in the south end of the lake. And, the color is a little off.

That said, we did fairly well on the steelhead plants as well as a nice rainbow and a German brown trout. The most effective lure was a 2.8" OG1 with a black body and a fluorescent-orange tail. After this, a fluorescent orange in 2.44" and 2.8". And, finally, the perch pattern in 2.8". (My partner tried a 2.8" fluorescent pink pattern that triggered the smaller rainbows.)

Below is a short video of the trip:

Thanks, Hewesfisher! It was good to get out for a few hours. (I'm wondering what the rain will do to the already high water on Rock.)

Donn: Hi Donn. Thanks for letting us get a little fishin fix thru you. Glad you made it out. Enjoyed watching your experience on Rock lake. We were in Leavenworth for Valentines Day/anniversary and there must have been over two feet of snow on the ground. Went on a horse drawn sleigh ride. Looks like it might be a late spring this year. I'm headed to the Lynwood Fly fishing show this Saturday. Should be fun.

Denny: Good to hear from you! Sounds like you're keeping busy. (Let me know if you're able to get out with that perch-pattern OG1 on the westside lakes. I'm curious as to what sort of response it will trigger.)

Thanks!

Hi Donn, Glad to see you got out and caught some fish at Rock. Will be fishing Roosevelt this weekend and will get a chance for some water time on the OG1's I got from you.

Donn: You bet. Hopefully in a week or two it will warm up here a little and I'll get out and wet a line and let ya know how it does.

Al: Good to hear from you! Speaking of Roosevelt: I just had a new customer running lures there last weekend. If you check our blog, you'll see a picture of his catch and can read his report--some good data in terms of trolling speed, attractors, etc... (His biggest fish was a 22" Kokanee, followed by a 20" rainbow.)

If you would be interested in testing a new OG1 color on Roosevelt, shoot me an email with your address. I'll get one to you!

Thanks!
