Guide Dave Grove, who focuses on Lake Roosevelt, had requested an OG1 lure in a perch color. I'd made a couple for him and continued to refine the pattern. Yesterday, good friend Stan Miller and I put these new lures to the test. (In addition, we tested a variety of other colors. Including our tried and true.)
Hands down, the perch-colored OG1 out fished the others. (We also caught fish on a black OG1 with fluorescent orange tail and a white OG1 with a fluorescent orange eye.)
The final tally was two rainbows, four steelhead plants, and a german brown. (We released two smaller fish and had two decent fish come unbuttoned at the boat.)

Thanks! Credit for that perch pattern goes to Dave Grove. (If he hadn't made the initial request back in November, I wouldn't have taken the time to develop it.)
We've been surprised at the response that this version of the OG1 gets from the bows and steelhead plants in Rock Lake. I'm looking forward to testing it in other waters.
