CF and I headed to Sprague without Al today. We had lines in the water by 7:30 and trolled Kekada perch flies and perch rippin minnows on the west end of the lake. Last week we killed them in the same area but did not get a bump in one hour so thanks to RWL we headed to the east end. It took only a few minutes to prove this was the right move. Over the next 4 hours we landed 16 fish in the 17-20 inch range, all C&R. The fish showed no preference for the perch Kekada or rippin minnows. Water temp was 45, speed 2.0-2.3 MPH, 10-12 FOW. These fish continue to fight like crazy with many aerial leaps. We had another dozen hits that did not stick. We weighed 2 fish and they both topped 3 lbs. The weather today was great with little wind on the East end. With no equipment issues today we had another great day on the water.

Glad the east end worked out well for you. I was there today from 12:30-4:30 and didn't do as great as you guys did. It was steady, but long periods would go by without a hit. I ended up landing 7 and lost 3 with about 3 or 4 hits that didn't connect. Black and silver floating rapala seemed to work the whole time at 2.2-2.4 mph. Looked like everyone in the afternoon was picking up fish. Not much aerial action, I wonder if it happens more with bright sun out, seemed to get increasingly overcast in the afternoon? Those fish are really strong definitely an amazing fishery. Seemed like the size was a little bigger today.

Thanks for your nice report. Those Kekeda flies are, IMO, the best trolling trout fly on the market. :-)

Glad the flies were working for you! Those are some hefty looking trout. A fun day I'm sure. Still haven't made it out there but with your reports it may coax us to get out there and give it a try. Thanks again for using the flies and reporting of your successes with them.

Thanks for another great report. Your going to force me to get off my duff and get out there.
Happy Thanksgiving to All!

Did you guys launch at the public launch toward the west end and if so is there a dock there yet? Thanks

We launched at the west end launch. The dock is out for the winter.
