I hit Silver at the crack of dawn today to chase some bass. I boater 10 largemouth with nothing bigger than 1 1/2 lbs. Most were caught drop shotting the sunken trees on the west side of the lake and I was off the water by 0900. Only reason I gave the day a 4 was because I caught a nice 36 inch Tiger, he hit my topwater about 5 ft from the boat. It jumped about 3 ft out of the water and scared the crap, (figuratively). out of my dog Charlie. Once I got it in the boat he wanted nothing to do with it. I released it after a couple of quick photos. The only downside of the morning was my faith in Lund owners being douche bags was renewed when a couple of knuckleheads pulled up about 50 ft in front of me when they could obviously see I was working the shoreline. I guess they thought I was only bass fishing so they could cut me off and continue to throw big spinners for Tigers. Courtesy certainly seems to be lacking in a majority of people who own Lunds, do they make you sign something when you by one that says you can now look down on everyone else? Just asking. My buddy Glenn owns a Lund so I know not every owner of a Lund is a moron.

It's not just tiger fishermen, or lund owners. Couple years agoI had some jerkwad bass fisherman in a bass boat cut in front of me and fish the dock next to the one I was fishing. Last year had 2 toon drivers do the same. But then I caught fish behind them so all was 'ok'.

First off, I'm the owner that Lund and we did not mean to cut you off, we were waiting for you to go bye as you were moving faster than we were and thought you had plenty of room but I would have gladly moved over to let you bye if needed, but all we heard was you starting up, make some demeaning comment about Lund owners and you took off. I tried then to apologize to you while you were going bye, and will do so again if you think we cut you off, but not for owning a Lund. I've owned eight different boats over the course of my life and this is my first Lund and thus far it has been a great boat. I look down on no one except maybe for rude people. I am a retired Disabled Marine and certainly not rich, but I apologize once again if I cut you off in any way which was not my intention and will try to give people more room in the future. I fish to enjoy myself just like you. and nice Muskie.

And I would like to add that after speaking with a co-worker this afternoon, I should have moved behind you or given you at least 50 yards to pass and I am pretty sure it was not 50 yards although I would have gladly moved aside, so I evidently was in the wrong. It had nothing to do with owning a Lund, just with not being used to fishing on lakes, and a learning experience, which I will be more careful of in the future.

I guess I can be a little cranky in the morning. I know not all Lund owners are knuckleheads and Lund's are actually fantastic boats; it is just that I have had a lot of inconsiderate Lund drivers cut me off or come uncomfortably close when blasting past me, especially while walleye fishing. If we run into each other again feel free to stop over and say hi, I will do the same. And I caught that Tiger just minutes before you guys drove up.

Thanks for accepting the apology. I thought it was great that you were fishing with your dog. Have not gotten mine in the boat yet, but hope to shortly. Always nice having them around. That was a nice Muskie. Have been trying to get one on Silver, but thus far have only managed to hook two and one threw the lure and the other broke my line, but still trying. Take care and good luck fishing.

My dog is pretty new to the whole boat thing; he barks like crazy at all of the buoys which might be a little annoying to the people who live on the lake, especially at 0500. Going to try Newman this afternoon to see if any fish are active.

I did Newman last weekend. Got a few hits, but only caught a few crappie. Might go back this Sunday morning. Good luck.
