I really wanted to go down and chase some sockeye, but with just me and my fairly new to fishing parents, I decided to go out to Rock instead. The forecast was for wind from 7-12 mph when I checked last night, and that was not even close. We didn't get launched until about 0900 and it was blowing almost 15 mph. We trolled with the wind pulling Rapala s on 2 long lines and 2 rods on the DR'S around 40-60 feet. The clouds and and wind chop kept the top rods busy with a mix of rainbows and steelhead, the Dr's produces 8 browns, 1 steelhead and a couple rainbows. Top rods were all steelhead and RBT. We got blown off the water around 2 with more than 30 fish caught and released and a couple of each type for the smoker keeping 6.
I love Rock lake and haven't been in a long time, it would be the perfect Kokanee lake, if we could get that to happen I wouldn't fish anywhere else.
