I met Mike at the lake about 1:00pm and headed to the far end of the lake. The day was sunny and quite warm for the first part of May. There was a light variable wind, 83 degrees and the surface water temperature was 70 degrees, which is quite high for this time of year.
We started catching fish right away on a green leech in about 20-25' of water. The fish were mostly hugging the bottom. The sized ranged from 14-20" and all were very strong and active fish. There were a few Damsel Fly adults hovering over the water, which again, seems a little early for the season.
Got of the water about 7:00pm. It was really quite an exception day.
Today was the first day I used my new Lowrance Elite 5X CHIRP fish finder with down scan and it worked great. Cabela's at Post Falls had it on sale for 50% off and I snatched one up. Quite an upgrade from my old Hummingbird 585c which I enjoyed very much.
