Well decided to make the first ice trip of the season. Went to silver for a few hours this morning, launch area looked sketchy. Still about 4-5 inches on the lake. Walked all the way across to the other bank about 50 yards out. 16 f.o.w. drop the transducer in the hole and it just lights up with fish from the bottom to 5 ft off occasionally. Tried a rapala jigging rap for some bigger fish, but no takers. So the micro jig and maggots. Not 5 seconds after I was down there hooked into one. Ended up catching about 15 fish or so. No size at all, Maybe 5 inches max. Constant action the whole time, the amount of little fish in that lake is unreal. Fed most of my fish to ol blue that likes to hangout by the ice fishers to get his winter meal. I like that bird. Good day I would say. Some heavy hitters but most were light light bites. Seen a few bigger marks come up the water column, don't know what they were. Till next time
