Tried Cranberry again this morning. Lines in the water at about 6:30. First bite was about 8am, no hook-up. 2nd bite about 5 minutes later. Real hard bite, and the fish instantly bolted to the surface, jumped, and spit the hook all before I could set it. From about 30 yard out it looked like a decent fish, maybe 15-16 inches. Not even a nibble until about noon when I finally landed an 11 inch rainbow. Left at 1. Tough day. Spoke to a few others fishing from the bank that didn't have much luck either. Talked to a guy pulling in his boat as I was leaving. He had a better day and limited, though he said he really had to work for it. Bank fishing has been tough here for a few months. Only action I could get was real close to the bottom, with 12-14 inches of leader.
