It was overcast, cool, a light drizzle, but very light wind as I arrived at Horseshoe Lake about 9:00 am. Four Kayakers were putting their craft onto the pickup as I arrived. The outdoor temp was about 53 as I started. I had 4 rods rigged - a Rapala, a jig, a spinnerbait and a crankbait. The first fish hit a Rapala 11 V (Vampire). The 2nd fish hit a Rapala 11 PD (purpledecent). The 3rd fish a Rapala 11 S (Silver). I fished about 3 hours and the wind came up. As I was quitting it was a challenge to beach the boat. Several bank anglers were sitting on stools and casting along the shoreline. Their cars were parked in such a manner there was no where to turn around near the ramp. Fortunately my backing skills were not all gone and I was able to use the ramp to load the boat. Usually I launch and retrieve from the gravel shoreline as shown in my launching photo.
One photo is of a very large tree with scads of purple blossoms on it. It is beautiful - was wondering if anyone knows what kind of tree it is.
In spite of the slow catching, it was a nice morning on the lake.
