Well I only had one bite, but I did catch one heck of a fish…A very wide, mint bright 21" rainbow of 5lbs.+. I was fishing by myself and the fish gave me a heck of a fight on UL gear. A very nice Eastern Europeon gentlemen noticed me "wrestling the alligator" and came to my aid to net the fish. This adventure happened within 50' of a far less pleasant encounter two days prior with a different Eastern Europeon non-gentleman who showing up mid-morning, demanded that I "Leave his spot…Because he planned on fishing here". I had been fishing in this spot for at least two hours. My temper literally EXPLODED, but short of coming to violence "Captain Hat" was not to be denied. I moved slightly, but then left. Thus, today's far nicer encounter with a real fellow fishermen on a beautiful day and a great fish was the tonic needed to keep me useing this WDFW Public Access.

I went through the same ordeal with a group of vietnamese on lake anderson. They moved into our very small spot and just cast over our shoulders. Then they folded or chairs and piled them up by the trail and proceeded to set theirs up where ours were.one who casted over my boys line tangled when my son hooked a fish.I told the viet not to worry about it I'll get it loose.I reached over and cut his line off at the reel. Then I walked over and threw their chairs out into the lake and told them if they didn't leave they'd be next. They took the hint and moved on down the lake.Sorry I didn't have the composure you did but I got the job done.

Tom: Sorry about the rude fisherman. I have had the same thing happen to me on the Columbia. I know how you felt. I hope that fella never crosses your path again. If he does I hope he has changed his ways. Respect for the other person, especially for the first one to the fishing hole is the name of the game so to speak. Sometimes I think our younger generation especially, have forgot about being respectful towards their elders, for the beauty of our country, and for what's right and wrong. Just my observations from around here. Not all of them are that way for sure, but they're sure seems to be alot of our younger folks who seem to have a selfish, the heck with you, me first attitude. Just my 2 cents. Nice fish by the way. Tight lines.
