Well from the now almost never ending crowd, I guess I feel O.K. posting a Sprague Lake report. With the wind blowing from the East and a late start, I didn't expect much today…WRONG. My first fish was a chunky 18" rainbow. I felt cocky until my Wife proceeded to catch the next four fish; including a big holdover/triploid, 23 1/2" and 5 1/2lbs. You guessed it…I caught only my one nice fish!

Hey T-Bone, it takes a good captain to keep others in fish!

T-Bone: Thanks for sharing. I hope to join you as soon as I get my boat out of the fix it shop. It's been there two weeks now. Motor problems. I hope the weather/wind is still cooperative and the fish of course when I do get to come that way. I've never launched at the state launch at the west end. Do you know if there are alot of rocks to worry about in that area as you're getting out on the lake? The last two times I fished there I was most sucessfull at the east end, but that was in late fall time. Not sure about now. Tight lines.

Denny, Sprague Lake Resort is open and offers fee launching with a nice dock in place. The water is up; so I didn't see even large boats having a problem at the WDFW launch at the far West end of the lake (cement step ramp; no dock).

T-Bone: Good morning. Looks like I'll get my boat back on Friday sometime. I'm thinking about heading your way on Sunday to fish for a few days. But I've heard thru the grapevine that some strong easterly winds are in the forcast over there which would really put a damper on being able to fish the lake. I can't seem to find out much about it tho. Have you heard about any strong winds coming your way next week from Monday thru Thursday? If it's so, I will have to put things on hold until at least the 6th of March.

Denny," Breezy with a 20% chance of showers" for Saturday 2/28. However, Sunday - Tuesday, the weather is supposed to be "Sunny and nice, but cooler"; no mention of high winds. Feel free to contact me via Email…ttylerz@yahoo.com

hewesfisher: Thanks for the help on the weather. I'm still not sure what's gonna happen. I haven't heard anything about my boat yet from the fix it shop. I also read in the Washington Fishing magazine fishing calender where there are suposed to be a couple bad days for fishing during the time I was going to come over next week. So i think I may wait till the 6th of March and try it then. 7 hours is a long way for me to come if the fishing looks poor. I hope things will work our for that time frame.
