Late start in fishing this year due to some health issues in April & May. Today was the warmest day so far this year, 85º under clear skies and a light variable breeze. The highest surface water temperature of the day was 74.8º. I got on the water about noon and headed to the far end of the lake. Picked up a few fish on the fish finder going down the middle of the lake. Most were lying just above the thermocline at 23 feet. Most of the fish I marked on the finder were just above the bottom in 25' water. I finally returned to the west end of the lake and started fishing the narrows. About 6pm I noticed that the fish were starting to move off the bottom a bit. Using a red bead head Carey, I picked up 3 Rainbows between 6-7pm. I discovered it took a very slow troll just above the bottom. Two of the fish were 16" and the third was 17". All seemed to have a lot of energy making some deep runs while I reeled them in. All were very healthy and released without out any problems of them being exhausted.
