Went to the lake to try my hand at landing panfish. Couldn't keep the trout off the line. Bottom fishing with a worm and marshmallows seemed to work well. Trolling a worm worked well too. A cryptic magic spell would have probably worked too.....or maybe a cheeto. Tried to cast a worm by the docks and landed a small bass, but nothing to write home about. Caught a small trout in the lip and went to let him go.....and he acted like he was fatally injured! (I swear he wasn't) He floated off farther than I could get him back and within a few minutes he got the attention of the local eagles. 20 feet from the boat an eagle swooped down and picked him up! That was cool! My camera failed to catch it, otherwise I would have a picture of that! Stuck around the lake catching nice trout until I had my fill. This is one of my favorite lakes as it is rarely busy and the fish are worth the trip. Later in the summer the west side lights up for big bass too.
Please keep in mind that the houses around this lake use the lake water as their home water supply so it is considered good sportsmanship to respect the water quality and refrain from polluting it. Trust me, the local residents appreciate it.
