After spending a pleasant day fishing a private lake in the area, I decided to hit Amber on the drive back in to Spokane. I arrived at the lake about 6:30pm, and made the decision to simply fish from shore at the launch rather than use my pontoon. Fish were working visibly near the shoreline at the launch so it made the decision an easy one... as it would turn out, the fishing and catching was easy too... Fishing a white micro leech and blood worm 6-7 ft under an indicator, I immediately picked up two nice fish in four casts... picked up a few more fish this way before the bite died... noticed a few rises right off the shoreline so I lowered my indicator to about 3ft above my flies and began fishing closer to the shoreline... for the next hour-hour and a half it was silly fishing... Not a fish every cast, but pretty close. There was a pretty even distribution between the takes on the blood worm and micro leech- about 50/50.... Nothing huge but lots of fish in the 14-16" range with a few pushing "18. Not sure how the rest of the lake was fishing but as is often the case, the "launch fish" were again very cooperative.
