The morning started out cold, air temperature about freezing but the sky was clear and little or no wind. I usually do well on Alice in the spring with an intermediate sink line but not today; I do not know if it was the sunny day or the cormorants but I could not find fish in the top few feet near the surface. I switched to a full sink and caught a couple of trout on green nymphs at depth of 8 - 10 feet. The catching seemed to be generally slow; I did not see any other anglers catch fish. Anyway it was my first fishing trip of the season and I had a good time. Maybe I will do better next week.
