Had the pleasure of making it out to Rock the last 3 weekends. The first run on the 13th was a little slow, guess I had to get all the bugs worked out.
On the 19th I fished with WA Laker eriksg (see his report earlier) and had a pretty good day of fishing.
Hit the lake again on Sunday with a buddy in the morning hoping to get in some catching before the forecasted wind advisory came true, the rain part came to be while were there raining most of the morning. Motored up to the North end and started in with a couple apexes, orange and fire tiger, and a dark green version of eriksg's "money fly" with action disk in front.
Caught a couple keepers by the shore at the creek mouth, but caught a lot of smaller ones 10-12 inches that were released. We decided to try some deeper water and things improved. The action was not as hot but the fish bigger in the 15-17 inch range. We were able to successfully field release the biggest fish of the day during the netting process, guessing in the 2.5# range. All fish kept were bows with a couple skinny browns in the mix that got released.
All three offerings produced fish, with a switch to a purple apex getting the most action later in the morning. Used weights of 3/4 and 1 oz and rigger down to 20ft. Speeds varied 1 to 1.7 mph.
Off the water at 12:30 with another limit of bows for the smoker.
