Got on the water around 6am. We were mainly targeting LM and in the 6 hours we were out there we landed none. About an hour into the trip the lady hooked into an appx. 30" Muskie (our first ever experience with one). After 20 seconds of battle it rose out of the water and tossed the spinnerbait away, experience ended.
We were alittle relieved cause we really have/had no clue how to deal with one once it's to the canoes(mind you) edge. Upset as we were we kept on flippin'. Around noon i put on a crankbait with a big bill to see if i could coax a LM out of the depths, up from the darkness i see a silver monster slitherin' after the CB with some quickness. By the time this Muskie caught up i was out of line to play with him (i really did not want to have to deal with a crankbait in his lips). He then swam under the canoe to the ladys spinnerbait and it was on, after a few minute battle our first Muskie was under control.
Ofcourse there was some confusion on what to do with this dinosaur but we struggled through it. Very exciting!
