I fished from 8am to 3pm cutting holes all over the north end of lake. I caught 9 by noon with another 4 by 3pm....I ended up with 7 keepers. Most of my action was in 30' to 40' of water. I used a hook and 1/2 of a nightcrawler all day.... laying it betwen 1" to 2" off bottom. The ice was groaning pretty good all day.....average ice thickness 3.5" to 6"....it felt safe...im hitting it tomorrow!

Maybe I should have rated the day a "3"....biggest perch only 8"...but.the weather was awesome and I had a great time!

Then you rated it right. Fishing is a blessing that we rate for ourselves according to experience, not what we catch or stick in a cooler! I've had one fish days that were better than 100+ fish days at times. It's like rating love. No number can confine it.

fishinchristian.......so this is my first winter ice fishing. I have fished Silver 5 times this season with little success...until today.....I finally figured out how to catch them little yellow bellies.....so today actually was a definite 5 star day for me......what a great sport......can not wait for tomorrow! ~God Bless
