This was a "we must get out and fish!" fishing trip for me and my boys. Forecast was for wind and rain, and it was no lie. Left the boat at home, and instead we brought along a load of firewood and some chairs and fished from the launch area. We tried bobbers and bait, bait on the bottom, casting spoons and flies. The most action was 2 "take downs" on the bobber which didn't hook up unfortunately. The only fish action we saw were some carp occassionally swirling. Nevertheless, it was a rewarding 3 hours braving the wet and wind and making some memories of a bonfire in the rain while trying to catch some fish. We were also joined by a great blue heron, who appeared to be having similar luck with the fish. Also, from the number of shots we heard throughout the morning, I hope the waterfowlers had a good day! Remember, there is no bad weather, only bad clothing!
