I decided to give Wooten another try on a absolutely gorgeous day in western Washington. I got drenched last Saturday but still caught some fish. The stars must have been aligned perfectly today because I had the best day EVER on the water!! I started out LMB fishing and didn't even get a bite so I switched over to trout. I started catching fish on the far east side of the lake. Most of the fish were biting immediately after my sinker hit the bottom. The fish were very active today as I seen many fish feeding on the surface. Even the eagles were getting in on some of the action. I was using some berkley gulp alive floating eggs in flo. yellow. and the fish killed it. Most of the fish were 13" average and the biggest was 16". I released all the fish unharmed to fight another day.
One more thing I have to mention is to commend the outstanding residents of Wooten lake. There were a few residents on their wave runners and were considerate enough to ride on the opposite end of the lake when they seen me and another fisherman in our boats. I want to applaud them for that. The jet skiers and boaters that go to Kitsap lake can learn a valuable lesson from the fine people at Wooten!

Beautiful trout. So do you usually put your fish on a stringer before you release em? I have nothing against keeping fish, just wondering.

LittleTrib the fish was a little to feisty flopping around in the boat so I put him on a stringer. Luckily he stood still to take a quick pic and held him in the water until he can swim off on its own.

I am assuming you only caught 5 trout, since State law says that when using bait you can only catch and release a limits worth of fish. Very nice fish, but it looks like the hooks were far down in the trouts throat.

Flyguy..I did catch my limit and aware of the regs. The hooks weren't to far down as when I revived them they quickly swam back down to the bottom.
