Fished Beaver Lake with a group of friends (4 to 6 other boats on the water) last Saturday morning & afternoon. Overall I caught 3 largemouth bass (approx 5 LB, 4 LB 1.5LB) and one solid 12" hawg perch that I lipped! All fish released...very quietly. I rate it a "3" because I caught fish and had fun...but the fishing was real tough - not consistant (for me anyway). I caught all my bass right on the bank, near the thickest cover patches. One on the road side, the other two along the far east side. My few bites came when the cast was tght on the spot, and the worm dead or moving only very slightly. A little wind as the day went on didn' help. I used my favorite homemade worms - Texas rigged and weightless. Only the second time out in the boat for me this year - I'll take it!

I was wondering if Beaver might be biting. Have to make a run up north. I was at Chain Lake on Friday and hit the trout plant only had 3 swirls for bass and lost one. Think we need another stretch of warm weather for bass to get more active. Good report and nice fish.
