Out to long lake to find the launch was blocked off for the new dock at the boat ramp. So I went to limerick. Found plenty of male bass on the shore line bedding. Fished off the beds to the deeper waters. I only caught this 10.42 large mouth. BOOYAH ! This is the largest, large mouth I have ever landed. The old record was a 10.1 down in my home town. I released this pig on the same dock she came from. The fish busted my rod into 4 pieces. If I didn't have braid I would have never landed the fish. I rank this a 5 star day cause thats a lot of fish.

Wow, man, you are definately the HAWG HUNTER! I can understand how hard it is to land a bass that big, I have a 10.8 florida strain LMB on my wall (Lake Amistad, Texas 1987), and it too broke my pole which knocked the glasses off my face! Nice work! Did you have any thoughts of having it weighed on a certified scale if it was that close to the state record?

It was still 1 pound away from the record. I thought it was a record while catching her. The rod was 6 yrs old a cheep one from BPS. She's under the dock in the pic go try for her.

Must have been quite the battle, so you had to pull it in by hand.
Nice trophy.

Beautiful fish - Congrats! Many years ago, during the late 1970s or early 1980s, a member of the Kent Bass masters caught a 10+ from Lake Limerick at night so I guess I'm not really that surprised at the catch -- especially with the Hawg Hunter on the lake.

Great fish and picture.

How did you gain access to the lake? Thanks

Ive fished Limerick MANY times in the past and Ive never caught a bass bigger than .5 lbs. To even THINK of catching a largemouth over 10 lbs in the entire western USA is insane, and you got one in western Washington. I thought that that lake held the occaisional 5 pounder, but a 10 lb fish is just unheard of. Its nice to hear of people getting into some trophy bass action in a lake that really sees nothing as far as bass goes. I applaud...I applaud...
